K. P. Yohannan, the founder of Gospel for Asia, said, “How can you know if a work is authentic? By its leaders.”
The leadership of a group or work is certainly a telling mark of the heart and
authenticity of that group. It is with that spirit that we invite you to get to
know the Board of Elders of True Life Christian Fellowship.
The Board of TLCF, which leads and governs the workings of TLCF as laid out in
our bylaws, is currently made up of three men: Erick Reinstedt, Ruben Cortez,
and Dave Landon. These three men have a combined decades of knowing Christ as
their personal Lord and Savior as well as of serving Him in official
capacities. They seek unity in their decisions as a mark of God’s will, and they share among them a common passion and love for God and a vision
to see His glory fall over the region that TLCF is entrusted with. They are
united in their heart’s cry to see people set free from the work of Satan in every area of each person’s life. They draw strength from their conviction of God’s goodness and His victory over the enemy. You can get to know each one a little
better reading or following the links below, and you are always welcome to ask
them questions.
My name is David Landon and I serve on the board of TLCF as Financial Officer.
My life as a Christian really started when I was about 17 years old. At that
time my world was very different than it is now. I was in juvenile lock up for drug related issues, I hated my father, I was a
very angry person. Thankfully God had a different plan for my life even then.
The juvenile facility that I was in would take guys to church if they wanted to
go. In desperation of wanting to see the outside world I decided that maybe it might
be worth it to go, even if it was church . . . Well anyway, the first time I
went they sat us all down in the front row where they could keep an eye on us
and Jesus Christ met me there that morning. I stood up for the alter call in front of all my hardcore friends and gave my
life over to Jesus. To tell you everything that happened from there would be a
book, but I will say that God has since taken all the hate out of me and
replaced it with forgiveness. I love my father now, and I have been free from drug use for over 20 years and don’t miss it at all.
I have been going to church almost every Sunday since 1979 and have been in
church leadership for over 20 years. In 1980 I promised God that I would never
play music in bars or parties again unless it was as a witness to Him. I have
been involved in Christian music and worship since then. I met Cherie, my wife,
in a college age Bible study in 1983. It is important to me that we as a church grow closer to Jesus and release more
of ourselves in worship to him. I look foreword to being involved in what God
is doing at TLCF.
