Current Series: The Kingdom of Heaven. This important series will begin by establishing that the Kingdom message was
the dominate “gospel” message taught by Jesus and the early church, and then look at what the message
was, exactly, and what it means for us as Christians. This is very important
for us to understand for both ourselves and to share with others as we have
fallen in to a place where many Christians just “get saved” and then “exist,” waiting for Heaven.
June 12, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 18 — A study of Jesus’ parable of the minas in the context of what it teaches us about the Kingdom of
Heaven and our calling in these days between its breaking in and its final
fulfillment.
June 5, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 17 — A look at the stunning statement by Jesus that the least in the Kingdom of
Heaven are greater than John the Baptist, who was greater than all who had gone
before. An amazing realization of the work Jesus did on the cross for us.
May 29, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 16 — A look at the Biblical precedent to purposefully/intentionally focus on and
remember our Godly heritage going back to Genesis 1:1. When we are born again,
of God’s Kingdom, we inherit the heritage of God and His people, and their baton is
passed to us. We are to remember God’s work and the heroes of our faith and to then go and do likewise.
May 22, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 15 — A brief comment on the May 21 “Judgment Day” predictions and our attitude about them, followed by a teaching from Psalm
89:26 on the proper, Biblical perspective on God and our relationship with Him
that we must carry through this time of Kingdom tension we live in.
May 8, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 14 — A look at the “tension,” or pull, we live in as Christians while in this world. We have the pull of the
nation we live in (America and the world) pulling one way, and the pull of the
nation we are born again of (God’s Kingdom) pulling the other way. This creates a tension which we live in and
must be aware of, and it is a tension that can bring us into conflict both
externally and internally.
Apr. 17, 2011 (Palm Sunday): Kingdom of Heaven 13 — A look at the purposeful life of Jesus . . . how it was a life for a purpose,
and it was lived in light of that purpose, and then a look at the Christian
life in the Kingdom of God and how we should have a purpose as well that we
live in light of and be commited to, and what that purpose should be.
Apr. 10, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 12 — A six minute talk about desperation for God, followed by the Kingdom study on
our citizenship in Heaven and how we truly are not of this world, with an
emphasis on the fact that Jesus says we are not “of” it, not just that we are not “like” it.
Apr. 3, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 11 — Wrapping up the Centurion encounter by pulling authority, faith, Heaven, and
Hell all together into one picture.
Mar. 27, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 10 — A look at the role of faith in Kingdom living, and the tactics the enemy uses
to go after our faith.
Note: Kingdom of Heaven 09 was not recorded.
Mar. 13, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 08 — A reminder of what it is about . . . about our ultimate privilege of
ministering to God as His Kingom of priests, set in the context of some issues
facing the fellowship at True Life, but applicable to all believers. He is our
inheritance, He is our highest mark, He is our all in all. Everything else is
in context of this, and because and for this.
Feb. 27, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 07 — A couple more points about the mustard seed and leaven parables of Jesus,
including the joy Jesus said accompanies a discovery of the Kingdom of God, and
how wonderful the news of the inconspicuous beginnings of the Kingdom is to a
region or area that is tiny and “unnoticed.” Then it begins a look at the encounter between Jesus and the centurion, with a
strong emphasis on the role that authority plays in the Kingdom of God here and
now on earth, and how authority comes through submission to another authority.
A critical study to begin understanding this important aspect of the reign and
rule of God breaking in here and now.
Feb. 20, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 06 — A look at the parables of the Kingdom of God being like a mustard seed and a
bit of leaven—and an important look at why, for the woman bound by Satan for 18 years with a
crippling spirit, the Kingdom of God was not just an obscure theology, or a
place in outer space, or a time in the future . . . but it was a very now and
present power and reality that changed her life and set her free!
Feb. 13, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 05 — A brief review, followed by a critical look at how Jesus taught the disciples
to pray, and the connection between the Kingdom of God and the will of God—His will being done being a mark of His reign, or rule.
Jan. 30, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 04 — We begin looking at the question, “What is the Kingdom of God?” Contains a look at the awesome, fantastic, nature of the Kingdom gospel (or
good news), and then a look at the different aspects of the Kingdom of God—a present reality in a place called “Heaven,” a future reality in a new Heaven and a new Earth and a new Jerusalem, and a
present reality in our midsts and near and within us.
Jan. 23, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 03 — The completion of Part I of this series, in this we finish establishing that
the Kingdom message was the dominate message that Jesus and the early church
shared, that it was/is the gospel (good news) we are to share, and that it was
the reason Paul moved with such confidence of power.
Jan. 16, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 02 — A look at John the Baptist’s proclamation of the Kingdom and the Old Testament foreshadowing of it, some
teaching on “plunder,” an analysis of the world condition when Jesus came on the scene, and the
beginning of a look at law and grace and how the Kingdom view centers around
them.
Jan. 9, 2011: Kingdom of Heaven 01 — Introduction to the series, comments on needing a proper “world view,” and beginning to establish that this is the message of the church.
Previous Series: What is Church? A series on what God means by “church”—not a building, not a service, not an organization, but His body, His bride, His
dwelling. The world, and many Christians, have some legitimate “complaints” about what WE have made church, but it is God’s heart for church we must move toward and align with.
Recent “Stand Alone” Teachings: These are teachings not a part of a series.
April 24, 2011: Easter (a look at all the difference the word’s, “He’s Alive!” make in helping us apprehend what He has already bought for us—multiple people said this message was good and it will bless listeners from many
different backgrounds).
February 6, 2011: Stan Stewart — Faith and Doubt (an excellent, encouraging look at faith and its enemy doubt).
December 5, 2010: Christmas - The Shepherds (a look at the Luke account of the angel and the Glory of the Lord appearing to
the shepherds, and the complete presentation of the Gospel that is wrapped up
in that account)
November 28, 2010: Thankfulness (a look at the posture, and command, of thankfulness which permeates the Bible
and is one of the ways we are to come in to God’s presence)
August 29, 2010: Living Evidence (seven responses to the attack some make on Christ by attacking the walk of
Christians, plus a look at if those attack also have some validity that
Christians need to look seriously at)
August 1, 2010: Theistic Evolution, Does it Matter? — Note: the most famous “human” zoo exhibit was a person from Congo, not an Aborigine, as I stated in the
teaching. The hunting and killing of Aborigines, and the display of humans
thought to be of “lesser” classes of men, are true and easily documented through internet searches, as is
the information on Eugenics.
Faith/Fear Series: Faith as an Antidote to Fear (including a study on whether or not God’s will is always done).
Obstacles Series: Obstacles to God’s desire, promises, and answered prayer in our lives (in-depth look at Biblical obstacles to answered prayer and movements of God).
July 11, 2010: Obstacles #1 (introduction plus Rejecting Others, Others, and Negative Influences)
July 18, 2010: Obstacles #2 (Unbelief, Little Faith, Not Expecting Prayers to be Answered, Ignorance)
July 25, 2010: Obstacles #3 (Praying for What Already Have, Spiritual Warfare, Demonic Activity Against and
Individual)
August 8, 2010: Obstacles #4 (A look at the Christian life and how/why God DOES want to move in and through
our life)
August 15, 2010: Obstacles #5 (Another example of the Christian life and God’s working through us, plus the Biblical obstacles of It’s Not Time, Husbands Not Treating Wives Properly, and Pride)
August 22, 2010: Obstacles #6 (In Love with this Present World, plus a very important look at Operating by the
World’s Systems & wisdom & methods & ways in our life)
Obstacles 7 was not recorded. It included: failing to meet precepts of promises
(or taking them out of context), responsibility for revelation, lack of
surrender or yielding, failing to obey commands associated with God’s work, not recognizing when God is helping, and mistaking “sent” for “called.
September 12, 2010: Obstacles #8 (A brief recap of the obstacles covered in #7 which was not recorded, and then a
talk about the yielded life, and the obstacles of seeking our own, fear,
forgetting the poor, and robbing God)
September 19, 2010: Obstacles #9 The conclusion of the Obstacles series. A PDF containing Erick’s notes for this series will be posted soon. It will include a list of other
Biblical obstacles not covered in this series. (9/19 teaching includes: Not
taking care of ourselves, strongholds of thought overview + bitternes & unforgiveness & anger & envy, a broken spirit, leaving the “room” empty, and the mystery of God)
